Lassie Tour Finals - By TroubleD

What can I say but WOW.

At the start of the tournament I got short stacked in a hand with Ani...I had top pair.. lost to her quad 4's. (Don't remember exact cards I had). I was down to 900 chips or less. Fought my way back and get a small stack that I was able to slowly build on as the night went on. As Daisy said...I was able to pull a "Coco" move and why not we, are entitled to do the same when that short stacked. Final hand with Desser was...I had As4s...she had QJ..flop was 8-4-9...turn was a blank...river a blank..She almost straighted out on me. Wow it could've gone either way on that last hand.

I have to say Philman was good about not watching over my shoulder too much. He basically let me play and he was the observer. As he pointed out after wards, that as his student I have come a long way in a year. I started playing poker almost exactly a year ago (right after his son died this time one year ago) prior to that I had never played a hand of poker.

Upon winning, I just couldn't believe I had done it. Phil and everyone tells me that I played strong all night. You want to talk about a rush of adrenaline when you realize that I had won is unreal. I was flying high on the feel for about 2 hours before I could calm down enough to be able to go to bed. I still have to go back and see me bling to make sure it's not a dream. Took a screen shot announcing winner...made it my screen saver...lol.

Haven't decided which of the 3 options Shaggy gave me, that I am going to take.

Want to thank everyone that played in the Lassie Tournament. It was a fun and interesting night. Everyone handled themselves very well last night. See you next season.

Thanks for the post TroubleD and congratulations on being the inaugural winner of the Lassie Tour - DM

Incentive Tour Final - By Lightning36

Wow - I won a PS3 tonight! Thank you K9 Poker Tour!

During the month of March, the K9 Poker Tour was running an "incentive tour" -- satellite freerolls and maybe even a money event or so -- for a grand prize - a PS3. I played in and qualified in the second freeroll that was run and then waited out the month for the final. There were 41 runners competing for the prize.

It was one of those tournaments when virtually everything went right. I got some good cards early, chipped up, and then hit a torrid streak of cards, enabling me to become an early chip leader and control much of the action at my table. At some points of the tournament, I had a substantial lead. Of course, the inevitable run of poor cards came and I drifted back to earth and stayed within the top four or so.

I played well and, of course, got some of the breaks that you need to win a tournament. However, I created some of my own breaks by playing aggressively.

The final table was a well-fought match. Fortunately, I was able to make it to the final two, then came out on top of a tough heads up match with stri8up. Kudos also go to Heuvy31, the third place finisher. When it got down to the final three, we were all about even at 20,000. Any of us could have captured the prize.

Since I recently bought a Wii for my family, I am not sure if I'll keep the PS3. How do you find time for gaming when poker calls?

Cheers,

light

The Poker Forum Challenge - Qualifier

Last night our pack got together and fought it out for the honour of representing K9 in The Poker Forum Challenge. As always it was hard fought but fun poker and we ended up with a good team.

Myself and BigMoody fought our way into our second consecutive final and we are joined by our fearless leader Shaggy, this months Money Tour winner Zen and Brad (Thrive) who will be supplied with a bottle of tequila for the finals.

From a personsal point it was very satisfying to beat Shaggy HU. We`ve played a couple of times before but because of the blinds have never had a long drawn out battle. Last night`s HU went on and on and just when it seemed one of us had gained the advantage and had victory in our grasp the tables would turn and we`d be back to close to even in chips. Great game bud, as I said last night you are one tough hombre to beat HU.

But . . .

Anyway last month our very own Razr won the final of the TPFC but we came second overall. Let`s see if we can go one better this month and win it outright. Thanks to everyone for playing and good luck in the finals guys.
